Q&A with Thomas Fay, Henderson Library director – 327th Edition

Interview by SCOTT DICKENSHEETS The full parking lot outside Henderson’s Paseo Verde Library a half-hour after it opened on Monday morning is a testament to how popular libraries are. But will those same people pay a little more to bulwark the system against declining revenues? Henderson Library Director Tom Fay and his staff hope that a proposed property tax hike — amounting to about $7 per $100,000 of assessed value — isn’t too much to ask come November. If the initiative fails, the district will close the Galleria and Malcolm branches and possibly curtail other services.
