There’s a tv in front of the ref that shows a slow-mo of the fencing.The ref can consult this before giving the hit. If you think s/he’s wrong, you can ‘call vide.’ The ref refers to another ref who is watching a video of the fencing. The decision given after ‘calling video’ is the decision of the ref watching the tv, not the ref in control of the fight. I think you’re allowed two incorrect calls per DE. Compulsory as of the last 64 at Grand Prixs & all World Championships, think. All weapons.
