When a new book on the 2008 presidential campaign revealed this week that U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said during the contest he thought Americans would vote for Barack Obama because he’s a “light-skinned” African American “with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one,” you’d have though Reid was the devil incarnate.
